Update: Earthquake of 5.1 magnitude registered close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on Aug. 13

A 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 06:38 UTC (17:38 local time). The epicenter was situated about 162 km southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.0 but later upgraded to 5.1.
