Update: Seismic activity on July 31 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake close to Vilyuchinsk, Russia registered

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.3 magnitude quake hit near Vilyuchinsk at midday on Thursday.

The tremor struck at 02:38 UTC (13:38 local time), with its epicenter located about 171 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk and a depth of 10 km.
