Update: Seismic activity on Aug. 4 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake close to Vilyuchinsk, Russia detected

A 5.1 magnitude quake was reported near Vilyuchinsk on Monday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted the area at 00:44 UTC (12:44 local time). It occurred at a depth of 76 km with the epicenter located about 119 km south of Vilyuchinsk. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.2 but later downgraded to 5.1.
