Update: Earthquake of 5.2 magnitude reported close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on July 30

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.2 magnitude quake struck near Severo-Kuril’sk at midday on Wednesday.

At 02:42 UTC (12:42 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 178 km south-southeast of Severo-Kuril’sk.
