Update: Earthquake measuring 5.3 strikes area close to Port-Vila, Vanuatu on July 13

A 5.3 magnitude quake was registered near Port-Vila Sunday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the region at 06:16 UTC (17:16 local time), was centered approximately 44 km south of Port-Vila. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

According to the USGS DYFI report, light to moderate shaking was recorded and several people in and around the Vila area reported feeling the tremor.
