Earthquake of magnitude 2.5 registered near Ferndale, CA on June 19

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — A 2.5 magnitude quake was reported near Ferndale Thursday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor rattled the region at 8:39 p.m. (7:39 p.m. local time). The epicenter was located roughly 84 miles west of Ferndale, at a depth of 6 miles.

Last week’s tremor

During the past week, one tremor with a magnitude 2.5 was detected in the area. It was recorded close to Petrolia, four days earlier.
