A 5.3 magnitude quake was reported close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Saturday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 06:46 UTC (17:46 local time), was centered roughly 165 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. It occurred at a depth of 17 km.
