Update: Earthquake shakes region close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on April 24 – 5.1 magnitude reported

A 5.1 magnitude quake jolted near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor hit the area at 12:49 UTC (23:49 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was approximately 166 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 10 km.
