ALEUTIANS WEST CENSUS AREA, AK — on Friday around midnight, a 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Adak, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The tremor, which hit the area at 9:14 a.m. (12:14 a.m. local time), was centered approximately 164 miles west of Adak. It occurred at a depth of 40 miles.
