Update: Seismic activity on July 26 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake near Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands, AK reported

A 5.3 magnitude quake was recorded close to Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands Saturday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor shook the area at 5:03 a.m. (8:03 p.m. local time). It occurred at a depth of 56 miles with the epicenter located of Rat Islands, Aleutian Islands. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.4 but later downgraded to 5.3.
