Update: Seismic activity on July 25 – 5.3 magnitude earthquake close to Pagan region, Northern Mariana Islands reported

Friday evening, a 5.3 magnitude quake was detected near Pagan region, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor struck the area at 09:44 UTC (19:44 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located of Pagan region and occurred at a depth of 247 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.9 event, but later upgraded it to 5.3.
