According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.6 magnitude quake occurred near Tatsugō Wednesday afternoon.

The tremor shook the area at 06:26 UTC (15:26 local time). It occurred at a depth of 10 km with the epicenter located roughly 90 km north-northwest of Tatsugō.
