A 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Pangai Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor rattled at 04:27 UTC (16:27 local time), with its epicenter situated about 75 km south of Pangai and a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 4.9 event, but later upgraded it to 5.0.
