Update: Nov. 29 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake reported close to Georgetown, Saint Helena

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Georgetown Saturday morning.

A tremor shook the area at 04:20 UTC (03:20 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 93 km east of Georgetown and occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.9 but later upgraded to 5.1.
