ANTOFAGASTA PROVINCE, Antofagasta — A 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Antofagasta Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 20:31 UTC (16:31 local time), the region was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake hit at a depth of 84 km, with its epicenter roughly 110 km southeast of Antofagasta.
