Earthquake measuring 5.1 shakes area close to Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on Aug. 7

Thursday morning, a 5.1 magnitude quake was detected close to Severo-Kuril’sk, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 22:07 UTC (09:07 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 195 km east of Severo-Kuril’sk, at a depth of 10 km.
