ALEUTIANS EAST BOROUGH, AK—According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.7 magnitude quake occurred close to Sand Point Thursday afternoon.
The tremor, which jolted the area at 4:30 a.m. (5:30 p.m. local time), was centered about 58 miles south-southeast of Sand Point. It occurred at a depth of 22 miles.
