Update: Earthquake shakes region close to Shwebo, Burma (Myanmar) on July 18 – 5.4 magnitude reported

PYIN OO LWIN, Mandalay Region—According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.4 magnitude quake occurred near Shwebo Friday afternoon.

The tremor, which hit the area at 09:30 UTC (16:00 local time), was centered approximately 35 km east-northeast of Shwebo. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.
