Update: Earthquake of 5.3 magnitude detected near Pacific-Antarctic Ridge on Sept. 18

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.3 magnitude quake shook near Pacific-Antarctic Ridge Thursday night.

The tremor, which struck the area at 08:19 UTC (23:19 local time), was centered of Pacific-Antarctic Ridge. It occurred at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 4.9 but later upgraded to 5.3.
