A tremor jolted the area at 19:26 UTC (06:26 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 160 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 10 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.6 event, but later downgraded it to 5.5.
