Update: Earthquake measuring 5.2 jolts area near East Pacific Rise on July 19

A 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded near East Pacific Rise Saturday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the region at 21:26 UTC (14:26 local time), was centered northern of East Pacific Rise. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Two tremors close to East Pacific Rise past week

Over the last week, there have been two tremors above magnitude 2.5 centered in the same area. The largest, a 5.6 magnitude earthquake, shook prior to this quake, while the other, measuring 5.4, was reported on July 19.
