Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake reported close to Tatsugō, Japan on July 2

Wednesday afternoon, a 5.2 magnitude quake was registered near Tatsugō, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor shook the region at 05:53 UTC (14:53 local time). The epicenter was situated about 92 km north-northwest of Tatsugō, at a depth of 10 km.

Last week, the area has experienced 22 earthquakes with a magnitude 2.5 or greater. The biggest, a 5.4 magnitude tremor, was detected in the same region three days earlier.
