HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA — A preliminary 2.4 magnitude quake was detected close to Ferndale Friday night, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
A tremor shook the area at 11:16 p.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was positioned approximately 6 miles north-northwest of Ferndale and occurred at a depth of 13 miles.
