Tropical Storm Fay: Monday, Sept. 21 status report from the NHC

The National Hurricane Center issued its first advisory of the day at 4 a.m. Monday, stating that Tropical Storm Fay is in the Atlantic Ocean, 405 miles southwest of the Azores. Packing maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, the system is tracking to the south-southeast at 2 mph.

“Continued weakening is forecast, and Fay could degenerate to a post-tropical cyclone in a day or two,” meteorologists noted.
