It was a long and winding road for Team USA against the Chicago Steel in the game on Friday, March 20, 2025.
Team USA won in overtime 5-4.
Team USA’s Casey Mutryn scored the game-winning goal.
The team took the lead late in the first period, with a goal from Casey Mutryn. Drew Schock IV and Landon Hafele assisted.
The Steel’s Cameron Briere tied the game 1-1 late in the first, assisted by Hudson Gorski and Owen Tylec.
The Steel scored three goals in second period an held the lead 4-2 going in to the second break.
Garrett Lindberg narrowed the gap to 4-3 with a goal early in the third period, assisted by Richard Gallant and Casey Mutryn.
The Team USA tied the score 4-4 with 13 seconds remaining of the third after a goal from Will Moore, assisted by Michael Berchild and Charlie Trethewey.
In overtime, it took 3:05 before Casey Mutryn scored the game-winner for the team.
