The New Mexico Ice Wolves defeated the Corpus Christi IceRays 7-4 on Wednesday, March 18, 2025 at Outpost Ice Arenas.
The IceRays took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Stepan Kuznetsov. Carter Krenke and Matteus Soderbom assisted.
The Ice Wolves tied the game 1-1 with a goal from Johnny Johannson late in the first, assisted by Ben Polomsky and Sloan Farmer.
The Ice Wolves took the lead late in the first when Jake Kasay scored, assisted by Sean Gibbons and Ethan Hull.
Five goals were scored in the second period, and the Ice Wolves led 5-3 going in to the third period.
The Ice Wolves increased the lead to 6-3 early in the third period when Ethan Hull found the back of the net again, assisted by Toivo Laaksonen and Francois DE Villiers.
Michael Valdez narrowed the gap to 6-4 with a goal nine minutes later, assisted by Pierson Sobush and Caden Morgan.
The Ice Wolves increased the lead to 7-4 with 42 seconds remaining of the third after a goal from Johnny Johannson, assisted by Toivo Laaksonen and Ben Polomsky.
The Ice Wolves have now racked up six straight wins.
