A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Vilyuchinsk Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor jolted the area at 16:43 UTC (03:43 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated roughly 175 km south-southeast of Vilyuchinsk and occurred at a depth of 29 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later downgraded it to 5.0.
