On Friday around midday, a 5.0 magnitude quake was recorded near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor jolted the area at 00:25 UTC (12:25 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was situated approximately 72 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 72 km.
