Update: 5.2 magnitude earthquake shakes near Vilyuchinsk, Russia on Aug. 23

A 5.2 magnitude quake was recorded near Vilyuchinsk Saturday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

At 04:22 UTC (15:22 local time), the region was hit by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 182 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk.
