SANTIAGO PROVINCE, Santiago Metropolitan Region — A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Villa Presidente Frei around midday Friday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 16:52 UTC (13:52 local time). The epicenter was approximately 28 km northeast of Villa Presidente Frei, at a depth of 100 km.
