Seismic activity on Sept. 19: Earthquake close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia reported – magnitude 5.0

A 5.0 magnitude quake was registered near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Friday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor shook the area at 12:24 UTC (23:24 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was located approximately 137 km east-southeast of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and occurred at a depth of 31 km.
