According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.8 magnitude quake struck near Vilyuchinsk Thursday night.

At 11:21 UTC (22:21 local time), the area was shaken by a tremor. The earthquake jolted at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter roughly 165 km southeast of Vilyuchinsk.
