A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Bitung on Friday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which hit the area at 05:11 UTC (14:11 local time), was centered approximately 117 km southeast of Bitung. It occurred at a depth of 40 km.
