Update: Nov. 9 – 5.1 magnitude earthquake registered near Yamada, Japan

Sunday morning, a 5.1 magnitude quake was recorded close to Yamada, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was reported that a tremor hit the region at 00:17 UTC (10:17 local time). The epicenter was situated roughly 120 km east of Yamada, at a depth of 18 km.

Last week, 14 tremors with a magnitude 2.5 or greater have been reported in the area. The most significant was a 5.6 magnitude earthquake detected in the same region one day ago.
