NIUATOPUTAPU, Niuas — A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Hihifo on Sunday around midday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The tremor jolted at 23:45 UTC (11:45 local time), with its epicenter roughly 64 km south-southeast of Hihifo and a depth of 45 km.
