Update: Seismic activity on April 1 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake close to Ternate, Indonesia detected

A 5.2 magnitude quake struck close to Ternate on Wednesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor, which shook the area at 23:54 UTC (08:54 local time), was centered about 128 km west-northwest of Ternate. It occurred at a depth of 35 km. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.1 event, but later upgraded it to 5.2.
