Seismic activity on July 31: Earthquake close to Coquimbo, Chile detected – magnitude 5.1

A 5.1 magnitude quake struck near Coquimbo on Friday around midday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 17:47 UTC (12:47 local time). The epicenter was about 69 km west of Coquimbo, at a depth of 21 km.
