Update: July 17 – 5.0 magnitude earthquake detected close to Aquiles Serdán, Mexico

A 5.0 magnitude quake occurred close to Aquiles Serdán on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor jolted at 15:26 UTC (09:26 local time), with its epicenter roughly 46 km west-southwest of Aquiles Serdán and a depth of 52 km.

During the past week, there have been four tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above centered nearby. The largest, measuring 7.3, occurred close to Puerto Madero prior to this quake.
