TAPACHULA, Chis. — A 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Puerto Madero on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

At 15:19 UTC (09:19 local time), a tremor shook the region at a depth of 10 km, with its epicenter approximately 101 km west-southwest of Puerto Madero.

In the past week, there have been three tremors of magnitude 2.5 or above centered nearby. The strongest, a 7.3 magnitude quake, struck near Aquiles Serdán prior to this quake.
