Update: Earthquake jolts region close to Macquarie Island region on July 28 – 5.1 magnitude registered

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 5.1 magnitude quake occurred close to Macquarie Island region Monday morning.

The tremor struck at 22:18 UTC (09:18 local time), with its epicenter situated of Macquarie Island region and a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.2 but later downgraded to 5.1.
