Update: Earthquake measuring 5.0 rattles area near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Russia on July 21

A 5.0 magnitude quake was detected close to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Monday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

It was reported that a tremor jolted the region at 14:33 UTC (01:33 local time). The epicenter was located roughly 152 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, at a depth of 10 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.1 but later downgraded to 5.0.
