Update: July 17 – 5.2 magnitude earthquake recorded close to Kiupo, Philippines

SARANGANI, SOCCSKSARGEN — A 5.2 magnitude quake hit near Kiupo at midnight on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

A tremor shook the area at 16:12 UTC (00:12 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was about 11 km southeast of Kiupo and occurred at a depth of 80 km. The magnitude was originally reported as 5.3 but later downgraded to 5.2.
