Earthquake of magnitude 5.2 recorded near Severo-Kuril’sk, Russia on Aug. 1

A 5.2 magnitude quake struck near Severo-Kuril’sk on Saturday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A tremor shook the area at 20:02 UTC (06:02 local time). The earthquake’s epicenter was about 160 km south-southwest of Severo-Kuril’sk and occurred at a depth of 50 km.
