A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred near Kuril Islands on Saturday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 04:40 UTC (14:40 local time). The epicenter was of Kuril Islands, at a depth of 35 km.
