An updated red flag warning was released by the National Weather Service on Monday at 2:05 a.m. valid between noon and 10 p.m. The warning is for Guadalupe Mountains Above 7000 Feet, Guadalupe and Delaware Mountains, Van Horn and Highway 54 Corridor, Eastern Culberson County, Reeves County Plains, Chinati Mountains, Marfa Plateau, Davis Mountains and Davis Mountains Foothills as well as Loving County.
“Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” says the NWS.
