Oct. 7: Earthquake measuring 5.2 shakes region near Chagos Archipelago region

A 5.2 magnitude quake occurred close to Chagos Archipelago region on Wednesday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the area at 14:59 UTC (19:59 local time). The epicenter was of Chagos Archipelago region, at a depth of 10 km.

Another magnitude 4.7 quake was centered in the region. The event was also reported near Chagos Archipelago region on Oct. 6.
