KENAI PENINSULA BOROUGH, AK — the U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 5.4 magnitude quake occurred near Fox River Thursday morning.

It was reported that a tremor struck the region at 5:33 p.m. (9:33 a.m. local time). The epicenter was located roughly 30 miles east-southeast of Fox River, at a depth of 15 miles. Seismologists first reported it as a 5.6 event, but later downgraded it to 5.4.
