Update: Earthquake jolts region near Port-Olry, Vanuatu on Oct. 2 – 5.0 magnitude detected

Thursday morning, a 5.0 magnitude quake was reported close to Port-Olry, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The tremor struck at 14:00 UTC (01:00 local time), with its epicenter situated approximately 48 km east-southeast of Port-Olry and a depth of 157 km.
