TONOSÍ DISTRICT, Los Santos Province — A 5.0 magnitude quake hit near Flores on Sunday evening, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The tremor, which rattled the area at 01:50 UTC (20:50 local time), was centered roughly 3 km northwest of Flores. It occurred at a depth of 10 km.

Last week, the region has experienced 36 quakes of magnitude 2.5 or greater, four of them larger than magnitude 5.5. The most significant was a 7.7 magnitude earthquake registered close to Pitaloza Arriba on Oct. 9.
