LITORAL DEL SAN JUAN, Choco — A 5.3 magnitude quake occurred close to Darien on Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The USGS reported a tremor in the region at 12:48 UTC (07:48 local time). The epicenter was approximately 30 km northwest of Darien, at a depth of 113 km.
